Maariyaatha loves me ...

Caution : Relegious matters ... If you are very serious about relegions, please dont read this. Disclaimer : If you understand the below in any other sense other than what is intended, the author is not responsible.

Well ... The title got triggered within me when I saw a display written "_ _ _ _ _ loves u". Hmmmm ... the first thing that came to my mind was "Did I ask anyone". haaaa !! sounded irritating to me. Have seen these words written everywhere - on cars, buses and even people's messenger status.

Irritating ?? but why ?? Those who have written that, dint do any harm to me and dint compel me to read that. Well !! yes !! They dint ... Let me explain then ..
Two people walk into my house. They start talking "Brother, do you know whats happening in our world ? Everywhere there are problems " Seriously guys !! I dint know what he was talking :-) Then I asked what the problem was ... He kept on telling that the world was full of problems and there should be someone who should rescue people. Then he put the question forward .. "Have u read this?" ... "There he goes" I thought to myself ... I told him, if its regarding preaching, Iam not interested. The guy again started telling that I should consider reading through that. I had to reply back in a harsh tone.

I have a friend of mine who completed engineering and has become a preacher. He is paid for preaching. And God knows if he gets commission on per person who gets converted. He works in the villages of Jharkand. Because in cities, people are educated. Where does the money come from his payment ?

In Karunya College of Engineering, a student of the 1992 - 1996 batch was asked to wipe off the "kunmkum" he had on his forehead and then proceed to the prayer hall.

And the ultimate of examples is the following... Iam travelling from Cochin to Bangalore in Kanyakumari express(around september 2002) to attend an interview in Bangalore. I am in the general compartment as I dont have a reservation done in advance. It is jam-packed and I ask a guy to move a bit so that I can place half of my bum on the seat. He asks me if I belonged to a particular relegion. I tell a lie so that i get the seat. After sometime I tell him that i did not follow the same relegion. The guy who is next to him tells him ... "its ok .. he is talking in hindi .. let him sit there" ... Heights man !!! I have to be of the same relegion as another guy or I will have to speak Hindi, so that I sit with him in an unreserved compartment of the Indian railways. I dint know that before.

One of my friends dint admit his kid to a school. Reason being, the kid was supposed to have thilak (kumkum) on his forehead when he came to school.

Well .. all these examples make me think, why people are so concerned about relegion. If someone is following something let him do so. Why disturb him ? And moreover religions were created by human. As in a famous malayalam song it goes (remember this was written way back in 1972)

Manushyan mathangale srishtichoo (humans created relegion)
Mathangal dhaivangale srishtichoo (relegions created Gods)
Manushyanum mathangalumdhaivangalum koodee (humans, God and relegion)
Mannu panku vachu manassu panku vachu (divided land and hearts)

Pretty true... So !! Why does someone has to be worried about relegions. Many people say, that caste system should be brought to an end and everyone should have equal rights. Same with relegions ... but this will never end. Even the government institutions require information on which relegion I belong to, to process things. So leave out relegions. If I say there should not be any relegion, that will be too much for now. Let there be relegions, but dont try to impose something on others. Or just dont try to hurt others.

Guys !! the above words doesnt mean that iam totally against any relegion or community. I have great friends who belong to other relegions. But when few incidents happen like this, I am forced to write all these.

Relativity

Relativity !!!
Believe me !! this write-up has no reference to Einsteins theory.

I remember one of my friends stating that he would get married once he is settled in his life. I asked him what did he mean by getting settled. He told me that he has to have a good job, good bank balance, and a feel that he has acheived something. When I thought over, I realised that this feeling of getting settled in life is a mere feeling - nothing apart from that. And its quite relative and varies from person to person.

This made me think of the other aspects of life. Whatever may be the subject, its depth varies from person to person. If am satisfied with my job, its not necessary that another person working with the same profile, is satisfied. Every person has his own levels when it comes to satisfaction. And the best part is, humans are never satisfied.

People start comparing themselves with others on aspects like wealth, health, nature of job they do, etc. Parents even compare their children with those of their colleagues. Its a common thing among parents, that they question their children about the 3 marks they missed, which had put them behind one of his/her classmates. Have seen people fight over wealth that has been inherited from parents.

So ?? Why compare ourselves with others and get ourselves into trouble. So ?? Is this comparison not required ??
The answer would be a "no". If comparison is not there, innovation would not be there. People invent or discover new concepts and technology, when they think of improvising on already existing ones. Guinness records are made when people want to project themselves different from others. Competitions are lively just because of the urge to excel one another.

Healthy competitions are good. But when the comparison is incidental, then its a waste of time. One understanding is required. Everything under the sky is relative. If I say, that I have a good pen to write with, someone else might have a better pen. If I say, that I have got the biggest car in the world, someone else could manufacture a bigger one tomorrow. Similar way, everything is just relative to something else. Its very important that we stop comparing things and give the best when we do something. When we try to excel over others, we fail to do so in most cases, and end up performing below our levels.
